Net zero and sustainability

Together, we can do this

The UK Government has set targets for net zero for all greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

This is based on the UN’s Paris Agreement 205 to limit global average temperature rises to 2℃ and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5℃

This graph from the AR6 IPCC report demonstrates why more urgent action is needed.

We will help you build your net zero plan

Do you know where your energy is going?

Measuring your current emissions is always the starting point whatever size your organisation is.

Using the approach set out in SECR we will look at current technology,  behavioural changes and business re-design to assess how we can reduce your carbon emissions. The aim is to cut them in half in the next 10 years.

Practical experience

ESOS measures Scope 1, Scope 2 and limited Scope 3 emissions. The next step is to understand how to reduce all of your emissions (including Scope 3), especially if your carbon is wrapped up in your supply chain.

ESOS Phase 4 will include a Net Zero Plan so don’t delay starting this.

We will review the risks of the various options and help you implement a practical action plan.

Your next steps will be based on what you can do now

  • Understand where energy is used in your business for everything. Focus on the high carbon areas.

  • Monitor energy usage in real-time to identify waste.

  • Invest in viable technologies that work now.

  • Plan for an all electric approach to your business.

  • Use solar PV to reduce running costs and carbon.

  • Plan how to remove fossil fuels from your operations.

  • Look at the relative embodied carbon of your investment choices.

  • Understand the impact of behaviour on your emissions.
