ESOS Phase 4 Energy Assessments

Phase 4 guidance has been published on the government website:

The qualification date for inclusion in the Total Energy Consumption is 31 Dec 2026.

The compliance deadline for submission is 5 Dec 2027.

Start to collate your energy data - all fuels including transport- for the periods you need to assess. Contact a lead assessor to agree the scope and number of sites to be audited to comply with the requirements.

The main changes:

You need to include an update on the Action Plan in the assessment with explanations for no progress.

The accrediting body for the lead assessor will be notified on submission to audit assessments.

DEC’s and Green Deal assessments are not approved routes.

Scope 3 has been deferred but 95% of energy consumption to be included.
